A Career Woman

For a woman to be a full time housewife is a complete waste of resource. There is a way it affects your development. With all the potentials inside her, a woman should have a job, whether as a professional or self employed. There is something that changes about you when you dress up to go to work, whether to your office or shop. Your outlook is different.
Take note of the following points:
1.      Don’t use your profession as an excuse for not developing capacity in the Spirit. Don’t be deceived by your profession or business to think it is the anchor of your life. God is and should be the Anchor of your life not your job. As a Doctor, Nurse, Banker etc you can always make out time for God. Don’t let your job be a hindrance to the pursuit of destiny. You can combine the two together. However, you will need grace. This will lead us to the next point.
2.      Take Advantage of Grace.
You need grace as a career woman. This is because you are functioning as a “double man”; you have male counterparts at work that do the same job you do and go home to meet his food already prepared by his wife. The house is already catered for by the children. But as a career woman, you do the same job and still do house chores. You need grace.
Learn to pray in the Spirit all times. As you are cooking in the kitchen, you can be listening to a message on tape at the same time. When your work increases, enlarge your capacity to accommodate the enlargement
3.      Don’t use domestic responsibility or spiritual assignment as an excuse for non-development in your profession. Never use one as an excuse for the other. Don’t stop developing until you get to the peak of your career. As a Nurse, don’t stop until you become the Chief Matron/ Director of Nursing Services. As a Teacher, keep developing until you become the Head of Principals.
I once met a woman who said she was confused. She wanted to get pregnant, go for a course and do some other things and she didn’t know which one to do first. I told her, “Do everything together”. Increase your capacity. The foetus in your womb will not stop you from listening to lectures in class. Don’t start carrying yourself around as an old ‘mama’ at thirty. Appreciate development.
PRACTICAL TIPS TO NOTE AS A CAREER WOMAN
  1. Learn to do exercise. Shed excess fat. It’s load. 15 minute jogging every day or 30 minute walk three times a week will do. It doesn’t have to be excessive. Don’t wait till you have a thread mill. Exercise will keep you fit and refreshed.
  2. Stop complaining. Complain weighs you down. Learn to smile and laugh.
  3. Reduce stress in your life. Take advantage of technology. There are equipments that can help you with domestic work e.g. washing machines, machines that make pounded yam in few seconds etc. Don’t locate your home in an interior place where it is difficult to get transportation and you have to treck a long distance. Don’t let anything sap the energy that is to be channeled for your destiny.
  4. Space your children: let one be old enough to send on minor errands before another one is born. Don’t have two babies that are not twins at the same time.
  5. Don’t expose your children unduly to caregivers. Be conscious of spirit flows.
  6. Don’t neglect your home while pursuing career development. Make adequate preparations.
